On March 20, 2024, Companion Company, as the agency of Kim Min Gue, announced the departure of their actor as an active soldier through their official fan cafe.
In their statement, Companion Company revealed that Kim Min Gue will enlist in the military on April 1. They also requested fans not to come to the training center for the sake of mutual comfort.
"Actor Kim Min Gue will begin his mandatory military service as an active soldier on April 1. There will be no separate official event held on the day he enters the training center. We ask for understanding as the reception will be conducted privately to ensure safety and prevent congestion at the location," said Companion Company.
"We greatly appreciate the love and support from fans, and we hope Kim Min Gue can fulfill his military duties faithfully and return in a more mature and healthy condition," added the agency.
FYI, Kim Min Gue who was born on December 25, 1994, is currently 28 years old, the maximum age that can be waited by most South Korean men to fulfill their military duty.
Kim Min Gue himself debuted in the tvN drama MONSTAR in 2013 and since then has starred in various works including SIGNAL, BECAUSE THIS IS MY FIRST LIFE, PERFUME, QUEEN: LOVE AND WAR, BACKSTREET ROOKIE, and SNOWDROP.
Furthermore, his role as Cha Sung Hoon, the chief of staff of CEO Go Food Kang Tae Moo, in the drama BUSINESS PROPOSAL in 2022 successfully strengthens Kim Min Gue's status as the next generation star.
