Yiren and Sihyeon Test Positive for COVID-19, All EVERGLOW Members Undergo Self-Quarantine for 2 Weeks

Kapanlagi.com - Unpleasant news came from the K-Pop industry. Two members of EVERGLOW, Yiren and Sihyeon, have both tested positive for COVID-19. This news was announced by Yuehua Entertainment through an official statement released on Tuesday (1/12) night.

The agency announced that both members underwent testing and were confirmed positive for COVID-19 after learning that Yiren had contact with someone who tested positive. Fortunately, the other four members of EVERGLOW tested negative.

"Hello, this is Yuehua Entertainment. We would like to inform you about the news regarding our artist, Yiren EVERGLOW, who has tested positive for COVID-19. Yiren recently found out that one of her acquaintances has been confirmed [positive for COVID-19], so she informed the health authorities and voluntarily underwent testing. On the night of December 1st, she received notification that her test result was positive. EVERGLOW members who live together with Yiren also underwent testing. Sihyeon's test result was positive, while the other four members tested negative," said the agency.

"Currently, the artists, staff, and employees in our agency who have come into contact with [Yiren and Sihyeon] have been tested or are planning to be tested. When we receive the results, if there is anything unusual, we will take further action and continue with additional analysis of their movements," they added.

1. Undergoing Self-Quarantine

Although the other four EVERGLOW members tested negative, they will all undergo individual quarantine for two weeks. This is done as a preventive measure to prevent further spread of the virus within the agency.

"Yiren and Sihyeon, who tested positive, will follow the instructions of the health authorities; and even though their test results are negative, the remaining EVERGLOW members and staff who have been in close contact with [Yiren and Sihyeon] will voluntarily isolate themselves for two weeks. Our entire agency will actively follow government guidelines to prevent the spread of [COVID-19], and we will conduct checks to ensure that there is no further risk of infection within the company. We will also work harder to do our best to take care of our artists," concluded Yuehua Entertainment.

2. Potential Exposure

EVERGLOW participated in the recording of the television program Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook last Tuesday (11/24). Due to EVERGLOW's contact with a confirmed case that occurred on November 22, the participants and guests of the Sketchbook episode are within the potential range of virus exposure.

As a result, all artists and staff involved in that episode will undergo COVID-19 testing. In addition to EVERGLOW, the guest stars in that episode include Teen Top, Gummy, Joo Hyun Mi, and Kim Hyun Chul.

"On December 1, Yoo Hee Yeol and his staff learned that a confirmed case had participated in the recording of Sketchbook. They immediately took the test and are awaiting the results. We will release more details after the results are out," said Antenna Music.
