7 Portraits of Vina Panduwinata Releases Cross-Generational Collaboration Album, Leaving Works for the Youth

The legendary Indonesian diva, Vina Panduwinata, is back with a new work at the beginning of 2025 by releasing an album titled All About Vina Panduwinata. This album features cross-generational collaborations with young musicians to reinterpret her hit songs with fresher arrangements.

Vina revealed that this album has been produced for more than five years with Bemby Noor, but it can only be released now. According to Vina, this project is a way to preserve her works so that they can be enjoyed by the younger generation. Here are the details.

“God provides the best moments and time. I am very happy to start this year 2025 by releasing this album as a legacy for the youth in Indonesia,” said the singer of the song Burung Camar when met in the Bintaro area, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, Wednesday (22/1/2025).

Bemby Noor, who was involved in the album production, also expressed his excitement about collaborating with Vina. According to him, the album production process was very fun because they had to explore the unique characters of each singer involved.

“The first production process was fun, exploring each other's characters together. Each singer's character had to be felt and turned into a song that was reborn,” said Bemby.

The album All About Vina Panduwinata features talented young musicians such as Marshanda, Novia Bachmid, Dirly Dave, Satrina D’Mello, Citra Scholastika, Abdul Coffee Theory feat. Aryono HD & Iwan Abdulrachman, and Michael Pelupessy. They cover Vina's hit songs with a new style. “This album has many genres because it is sung by great singers like Marshanda, Dirly, Citra, and Novia. The result is very fresh,” added the 63-year-old woman.

Marshanda, one of the singers involved, feels very proud to collaborate on this album. She reinterprets the song titled Di Dadaku Ada Kamu, one of Vina's big hits. “I feel very happy, flattered, and honored to be part of the All About Vina Panduwinata album, singing Mama Ina's legendary song,” said Marshanda.

In addition, Marshanda also admitted to feeling quite nervous because she hasn't been active in the music world for a long time. “It feels quite tense for me because it's been a really long time since I sang, released a single, or an album, and I haven't performed live in a long time either. Nervous but very happy,” she continued.

In this album, Vina herself only performs one song, which is Sampai Menutup Mata created by Melly Goeslaw. This song was chosen because it has a deep meaning for Vina. “Mama Ina only sings one song created by Melly. Mama Ina's hit single is sung by all of them, because Mama Ina really loves Melly's songs,” explained Vina.
