Afgan Celebrates 18 Years of Work, Will Hold Solo Concert 'RETROSPECTIVE'

Singer Afgan announced his latest achievement in the Indonesian music industry. After 18 years of work, he is preparing to hold a solo concert titled "RETROSPECTIVE: The Concert" which will take place at the Plenary Hall, Jakarta Convention Center (JCC).

This concert is an important moment for Afgan to showcase his maturity in music. He admitted that he has experienced many changes, especially in terms of confidence when on stage compared to the beginning of his career.

"Perhaps in terms of maturity, my self-awareness is much deeper. Maturity in songwriting, in conveying the songs, is deeper still. Now on stage, I am more flexible, more relaxed; before I might have been shy to interact, now I am more at ease. So the concert will be more grand and more intimate," said Afgan when met in the Senayan area, Jakarta, Wednesday (13/5/2026).

The title "Retrospective" is taken from Afgan's latest album, which has received positive responses from listeners. This concert is designed to look back on his career journey from the beginning until now as a preparation for the future.

"Retrospective is about looking back at the journey to better look forward. I will perform my old songs again, so it's like a journey book of Afgan, and I will make it as personal as possible," said Afgan.

The promoter, Seven Star, initially planned this concert with an intimate concept. However, seeing the great potential and career journey of Afgan, the concept was eventually changed to a large-scale performance at JCC.

"Originally, we wanted to create an intimate concert but turned it into a large concert. This is our biggest concert, Seven Star. From the trinity's perspective, this is an important moment, a milestone for Afgan, let's do it," explained Dolly Sartika as the promoter.

Saptoto Prasetyo as Head Creative added that this concert will be a major momentum this year. Afgan's extensive song catalog over 18 years is the main strength of this performance.

"Grande, journal, memorable because we can't deny that 18 years of Afgan's work certainly has a vast catalog in music. This will be a major concert momentum this year," concluded Prasetyo.
