After Two Years of Hiatus, Mikha Tambayong Makes a Comeback with the Song 'It's My Time'

Kapanlagi.com - After two years away from the music scene, Mikha Tambayong finally returns with her latest work. Her return is marked by the launch of a single titled It’s My Time, released in early May 2025.

Mikha mentions that this single is not just a comeback, but a form of self-expression as a woman. In this song, Mikha wants to convey feelings that many women often experience, such as self-doubt, which often becomes a barrier for them to be more confident.

"So the lyrics from the beginning describe how sometimes we doubt ourselves. Especially women, right? We are indeed emotional human beings," said Mikha Tambayong at a press conference in the SCBD area, South Jakarta, on Friday (2/5/2025).

Mikha realizes that in life's journey, many women feel they are not good enough and often compare themselves to others.

"It's actually a very real everyday life that I try to put into words," said Mikha Tambayong.

1. Give an Important Message

In this single, Mikha strives to deliver an important message, which is that every woman has her time to shine, and it doesn't need to be compared to others. She wants to encourage women to accept themselves more.

"Everyone has their time to shine, and that time is different for each person. So it's important not to keep comparing yourself to others," she said.

Mikha also added that in the making of the music video for It's My Time, she aimed to be more personal by involving her closest people. In the music video, there are moments of togetherness with family and female friends who are her support system.

"This music video is also very personal because I involved my closest people, my female friends whom I consider amazing," said Mikha.

2. Message of Solidarity Among Women

The involvement of close people in this project is not without reason. Mikha wants to build a message of solidarity among women and hopes that the music video can serve as a reflection for other women.

"I hope it can also represent the feelings of my female friends. Because I have also experienced those phases, you know. So hopefully when friends hear it, they can feel represented," said Mikha Tambayong.

3. Comeback After a Long Hiatus

Although she has been on a long hiatus from the music world, Mikha admits that her passion for music has never faded. She revealed that during those two years, she continued to write songs and jot down various ideas even though they had not been published.

"I never really stopped writing songs or stopped listening to music. But I was indeed waiting for the right time to release something meaningful," said Mikha.

Mikha realizes that music is an important part of her, both as a singer and an actress. Through It's My Time, Mikha wants to mark a new chapter in her career that is more mature, honest, and open. She also does not rule out the possibility of becoming actively involved in releasing other musical works.

"I really miss performing, I miss interacting with people through music. So after this, I want to be more active again," said Mikha.

4. Song Creation Process

Mikha also shared the challenges she faced in creating this song. Although there are no major concerns about public reception, she still feels it is important to write songs that come from the heart.

"Actually, if I were afraid, maybe not. Because this is our work telling our own story, right? And I believe that what comes from the heart also brings joy to the heart," said Mikha about the process of creating the song It's My Time.

Mikha also revealed that her creative journey in making this song heavily involved support from her husband, Deva Mahenra. She expressed that Deva is very supportive of whatever she does, especially in music.

"As long as I am happy doing it and I'm not exhausted, he really supports me as long as there is still an opportunity and I want to do it," said Mikha.

5. Get Involved Directly

Mikha also feels very involved in every detail of this project, from music production to the selection of visuals in the music video.

"Honestly, I’m really addicted. Although it is quite difficult because we really have to pay attention to those detailed things," she said.

In every step, Mikha reminds that success is not just about herself, but also about appreciating the support and hard work of the team and the people closest to her.

"I want this to be a collaborative work actually. I want to involve my family, the amazing women, my friends as well, the amazing women too," Mikha revealed.
