Andien Celebrates 22 Years of Career Through Melodi Monolog: Dan Lalu, Here are Interesting Facts!

Commemorating 22 years of career in the music industry, Andien held an online performance entitled Melodi Monolog: Dan Lalu. This 45-minute show was exclusively and freely broadcasted on vidio.com starting from February 22, 2022 at 19:00 WIB.

In Melodi Monolog: Dan Lalu, Andien performed 12 songs including Berlayar, Gemintang, Sahabat Setia, Indahnya Dunia, Milikmu Selalu, Moving On, and Pulang. Andien's songs in this concert sounded different from their original versions because they were rearranged by music director Lie Indra Perkasa.

1. There are 3 Phases of Human Journey

In the online concert, Andien performed 12 songs divided into 3 phases of the journey, namely: Begin, Separate, Arrive. This is a series of long human journeys in their lives that then trigger a question 'And Then?' in their minds. The concept of the story itself comes from Andien and was perfected by director Shadtoto Prasetio.

"This is about the cycle of human journey. How in the Begin segment, humans start everything with flowers, with love, beautiful but the reality is that what ultimately makes humans strong is in the Separate segment. We see a lot of separations, painful things or letting go of something, but that phase shapes a person," said Andien when met in the SCBD area, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (22/2).

"Finally, they reach the Arrive phase in their respective goals. That's why this show is called 'And Then'. Because when people arrive, it doesn't necessarily mean they're finished. There will definitely be their own 'And Then' in the past," said Andien.

2. Shooting in Banyuwangi

The interesting thing about this performance is that it was held in the open nature, specifically in De Djawatan Forest, Banyuwangi, East Java. Holding a performance in the middle of the forest has been Andien's dream for a long time.

"Wow, it's crazy. I've wanted to make a performance in the forest for a long time, ever since I got married. There are no other candidate places," she said while laughing.

"I wanted to do it in Banyuwangi, so I thought, how can I do it? Suddenly, there were sponsors and everything. But many friends helped and gave special prices. Thank you so much, that's it," Andien continued.

3. Challenges During Shooting

Andien is very grateful because the shooting went smoothly despite the Covid-19 pandemic situation. Although there were no significant obstacles, she felt very tired because the shooting took place from morning until night.

"I myself can't believe that this could happen because shooting in the middle of a pandemic is not an easy thing. We involved nearly 100 people in Banyuwangi when everyone was being cautious, and the Omicron variant was high in Jakarta, but it had to happen," Andien explained.

"I'm emotionally exhausted and physically exhausted because it was done in one day. So we were shooting from dawn until one in the morning. Can you imagine how it was? I don't know where all the strength came from for all of this to happen. The preparation was long, so when we were shooting, everything was already scheduled," she added.

4. Wearing Recycled Dress

Not only recycling her songs, Andien also recycles her clothes for this performance. The white dress is a combination of 4 dresses that Andien wore in her previous concerts. She also revealed her reason for wearing the dress.

“My clothes themselves are sustainable, so my 4 old clothes that I never wore again are transformed into a new dress. Because the concept is that I hold the event in the middle of nature, I want to invite people that grandeur is not about the stage, lighting, and everything else. Even though it looks grand, the stage is actually a forest,” she explained.

“Similarly, clothes don't have to be adorned with sequins, bling-bling, and so on. Because I myself have been advocating for sustainable fashion in recent years. This is one of my efforts and ways to tell society that sustainable fashion can be something beautiful,” Andien concluded.
