Answering Fans' Longing, Jamrud Comeback Releases Music Video for Single 'Kau Ada Untukku'

Kapanlagi.com - Good news for rock music lovers in Indonesia, especially Jamers (Jamrud fans). The iconic rock band popular in the 90s, Jamrud, has decided to make a comeback after years with a power ballad single titled Kau Ada Untukku (You're There for Me).

Through their latest single release, Jamrud also commemorates their 25-year journey in the Indonesian music industry. This time, the band, led by Krisyanto (vocals), Aziz Mangasi Siagian (guitar), Ricky Teddy (bass), Mochamad Irwan (guitar), and Danny Rachman (drums), is under the label Logis Music, a new label founded by Log Zhelebour.

"The song Kau Ada Untukku was actually released in the 80's album in 2017. But around 2 weeks after its release, the album was withdrawn from circulation, both digitally and physically, due to a management change. That's why we re-release it with a different sound from the remastered version," explained Aziz Mangasi Siagian, guitarist and founder of Jamrud, in a press release received by KapanLagi.com.

1. Reasons for Withdrawing the 80's Album

Still related to the album 80's that was withdrawn from circulation, Jamrud finally re-released the album with the title GOD GAVE ROCK N' ROLL TO ME on January 15, 2021. Azis also explained in more detail the reasons why the album was withdrawn from circulation.

"In addition to management changes, there are actually other reasons why the 80's album was withdrawn from circulation. The album title didn't feel right because the sound character of the recording doesn't have an 80s vibe. Yes, the 80s had an organic sound because it was still mostly analog. All the takes had to be done with a direct system, the microphone placement had to be accurate, and the master recording had to use hard-to-find reel tapes. Even if we had to use software to work around it, the result would still be different," Azis continued.

2. Not Included in the GOD GAVE ROCK N' ROLL TO ME Album

But anyway, Jamrud's latest single, Kau Ada Untukku, was not included in the album GOD GAVE ROCK N' ROLL TO ME. This single was released separately and specially to celebrate Jamrud's 25th anniversary.

The music video for Kau Ada Untukku has been released on the Logis Music YouTube channel since February 11, 2021. The single can also be streamed on digital platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, Langit Musik, Deezer, and others.
