Kapanlagi.com - After his complaint letter sent in May was not responded to, songwriter Ari Bias reported singer Agnez Mo to Bareskrim Polri on Wednesday (19/6).
Agnez is reported for alleged copyright infringement. The 37-year-old singer is reported for performing the song Bilang Saja in concerts in three different cities without permission from the songwriter, Ari Bias.
"Agnez Mo is reported for using the song created by Ari Bias, Bilang Saja, in live concerts without permission from Ari Bias as the songwriter," said Ari Bias' lawyer, Minola Sebayang, at Bareskrim Polri on Wednesday (19/6) evening.

Minola Sebayang also added that the elements of violation regulated in Article 9 paragraph 2 and 3 of the Copyright Law have been fulfilled, so this report is directly submitted in accordance with Article 113 of the Copyright Law.
"So the elements of violation in Article 9 paragraph 2 and 3 have been fulfilled, we directly create a report, as regulated in Article 113 of the Copyright Law," he said.
Furthermore, Minola stated that Ari Bias requested compensation of IDR 1.5 billion from Agnez Mo for the losses suffered due to alleged copyright infringement.
"We sent a summons for one concert, asking for IDR 500 million, so if there are three concerts, it would be IDR 1.5 billion. But it is possible that this loss could increase even more, depending on the ongoing process," he said.
Previously, PT Aneka Bintang Gading (Holywings Group) was also sent a summons regarding the same issue. However, due to the good faith of Holywings Group, only Agnez Mo was eventually reported.
"From their conversation, there is an indication that there is an agreement between HWG and Agnez Mo, where HWG states in the agreement that the license to the creator and the royalty are the responsibility of Agnez Mo," he concluded.
