Ariel Noah Reveals Issues Regarding Singers Related to Royalties to the Indonesian House of Representatives

The music world in the homeland is once again busy with serious discussions regarding the Draft Copyright Law (RUU Hak Cipta). Musicians and artists, including the renowned vocalist Ariel NOAH, gathered for a public hearing (RDPU) at the Indonesian House of Representatives building in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday, August 27, 2025.

This important meeting was led by Commission XIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives, which was also attended by Ahmad Dhani and friends from the All-Indonesian Composers Association (AKSI). Ariel expressed his gratitude for being officially invited by the Indonesian House of Representatives to this forum.

For him, this is a golden opportunity to express various complaints and issues that have plagued the music world, especially regarding the royalty polemic between songwriters and singers. Ariel sees this as a constructive step forward.

"From us, we can be invited to an official forum to express our complaints. Earlier, we discussed the issues, we brought out all the problems from the perspective of the singers, yes from VISI," said Ariel at the DPR Building, Senayan, Wednesday (28/8/2025).

Ariel continued, in that meeting, the Indonesian Composer Association (AKSI) also presented the issues from the perspective of songwriters.

"It was conveyed by AKSI about the problems faced by songwriters. The issues have been laid out, we have reached that point," said Ariel.

The man whose full name is Nazril Irham then leaked the next steps that will be taken by the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI).

Ariel stated that next week, representatives from the singer organization (VISI) and songwriters (AKSI) will be invited to get more involved in the drafting process of the Copyright Bill.

"Next week, three representatives from VISI will be deployed in the drafting of the Copyright Bill. Next week will be more specific, focusing more on solutions," he said.
