Audrey Tapiheru Tells Love Story, Life, and Principles Through EP 'LoveLock'

Kapanlagi.com - Beautiful singer and also one of the members of the vocal group GAC, Audrey Tapiheru released her latest EP or mini album titled LoveLock. Under the label Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia (SMEI), the EP LoveLock contains three songs written by Audrey, namely Dime, Menanti-Nanti, and Constantly You.

In the EP LoveLock, the younger sister of singer Gamaliel Tapiheru explores three themes at once, ranging from love journey, life, and principles.

"Actually, when I wrote these lyrics, it seemed to tell the phases of a love journey, life phases, and there are principles," said Audrey in a virtual press conference on Monday (20/9/2021).

Audrey explained that there is a story behind the three songs included in the EP LoveLock. First, Dime, this song was written when she was in a phase of enjoying solitude. The second, Menanti-Nanti, this song has a similar story to Dime.

Then, the third, Constantly, in this song Audrey tells the story when she has found the man she dreams of.

"The first one is Dime, a phase where I enjoy being by myself. The second song is also during a time when I was alone, but I longed for someone to accompany me when I'm happy, it's called Menanti-nanti. The last song is about the time when I found someone. Usually, we write things down and lock them up," she said.

Audrey mentioned that the three songs in this EP, LoveLock, have been around for the past two years. It was after Audrey went through her toughest phase when her beloved father passed away on October 29, 2020.

"The writing process took quite a while, like Dime was already there in 2019, but it was only finished this year. The last one was also from 2020 and finished this year. The truly new one is Menanti-nanti." Now, why (the EP title) Lovelock, it is a European men's hairstyle from the 1500s to the 1700s," Audrey said.

During the production of the EP LoveLock, Audrey was assisted by her beloved brother, Gamaliel Tapiheru, who is also a member of the GAC group. So, what is the role of her brother when she recorded her EP?

"I can tell when he doesn't like something, when he's unsure, without him saying anything. So, I always inform him, I am your older brother, so if you need anything, just knock. I am a songwriter, producer, and creative director," said Gamaliel.

It should be noted that there are three songs in the LoveLock EP, released gradually. Starting with the song Dime, which was released on September 22. Then, the song Menanti-Nanti on October 5. And then, the song Constantly You will be released on October 20, 2021.
