'Belum Waktunya', A Love Story of Melin's High School Days Hindered by Parental Blessing

Kapanlagi.com - The pandemic period does not stop the creativity of talented teenage singer, Melin. In this month full of love, Melin has just introduced her latest single titled Belum Waktunya (Not the Right Time). This is Melin's 4th single during her career in the Indonesian music industry.

Not playing around, Melin also collaborates with a series of famous names in the production of the single Belum Waktunya, such as Zikra and Rian D'Masiv. Meanwhile, renowned director Binsar Sihombing was trusted to work on the music video.

"The song Belum Waktunya is just released now because of the pandemic. It's just released on Melin's Youtube and Instagram. The physical release is not yet available," said Melin in a press conference in Cinere, Depok, on Saturday (13/2).

1. Story of High School Love

The song Belum Waktunya tells the story of a high school girl who starts to feel the turmoil of love with her classmates. Unfortunately, her feelings of love are hindered by her parents' blessing, where her mother wants her daughter to fulfill her dreams first.

"This is a story about teenagers who like the opposite sex in the early days of high school. There are still limitations because of school and parents, there is a dilemma in liking the opposite sex. This song is a form of happiness at the age of 14 or 15. Want to bring back a theme that has long disappeared in their age. Relate to me, because in this teenage era," explained Melin.

2. Collaboration with Bima Azriel

Meanwhile, Melin also collaborated with teenage actor Bima Azriel to be a model in the music video for Belum Waktunya. Although this is their first project together, the chemistry between them is so good.

"I am the actor in the music video. I like Melin, but Melin is limited by her parents, not more than a friend. There are no difficulties, because it relates to both of our lives in our teenage years," explained Bima.
