To cure the longing of fans for Jamaah Al-Jazziyah, PT Jazz Gunung Indonesia (JGI) once again held the Jazz Gunung Ijen event for the tenth time. Specially, Jazz Gunung Ijen 2024 is held in conjunction with the celebration of Indonesia's 79th Independence Day.

'The Freedom of Jazz, The Freedom of Indonesia' is the theme of jazz gunung ijen 2024. The gates for the audience opened at 14:30 WIB. Aditya Ong Quartet as the first performer opened the jazz gunung Ijen 2024 event in the afternoon.

The jazz musicians who performed in the first session included Aditya Ong Quartet, Trio Sri Hanuraga, Kevin Yosua, and Elfa Zulham.

These popular jazz musicians performed several of their hit songs. Aditya Ong Quartet played the song Padang Bulan, which is included in the album A Gimmer of Hope. Some of their works also arranged traditional songs such as Javanese dolanan.

Meanwhile, Trio Sri Hanuraga, Kevin Yosua, and Elfa Zulham also performed several hit songs from their best works, including Mark The Blues, Here's That Rainy Day, Think of Others, Deconception 1 and 2, and Conception.

The nationalistic atmosphere was also brought by several musicians who performed songs themed around Indonesia. One of them is Indra Lesmana, known as a maestro of Indonesian jazz music. Indra Lesmana, who performed with a trio concept, brought several hit songs.

One such song is Rayuan Pulau Kelapa, created by Ismail Marzuki. This song is a national song that carries a message of nationalism. There is a reason why Indra Lesmana deliberately chose this song, as it coincides with Indonesia's 79th Independence Day. This includes the momentum of Jazz Gunung Ijen 2024, which is held in the open air of Taman Gandrung, Terakota, Banyuwangi.

Freedom from oneself from tradition, in jazz there is always tradition while trying to find new subjectivity taking sounds from oneself. There are many variations. We want to continue that spirit, reinterpret the existing jazz." Said Sri Hanuraga.

4. Gandrung Dance Performance

Jazz Gunung Ijen 2024 is located at Taman Gandrung Terakota, Banyuwangi, East Java. It is no surprise that cultural aspects are also showcased, one of which is the traditional Gandrung dance from Banyuwangi. Several dancers accompanied by traditional music performed captivatingly after the break moment.

The Gandrung dance performance serves as a prelude to several other jazz musicians such as Yuri Mahatma's Straight & Stretch Feat. Dian Pratiwi and Indra Lesmana Trio. Consisting of 7 dancers, the Gandrung dance provides unique entertainment for the audience present.

The breakthrough moment and excitement also occurred during the performance of Yuri Mahatma's Straight & Stretch Feat. Dian Pratiwi. These renowned jazz musicians from Bali managed to get the audience swaying while enjoying the jazz melodies they performed.

Dian Pratiwi attractively invited the audience to stand up, sing along, and dance. Loud applause was heard as Dian Pratiwi interacted with the audience while performing several hit songs. Some of these songs included Paint It Black, I Can't Give You Anything But Love, and Alone Together.

6. Surprise in the Form of Special Promotions

Not only jazz music performances, but the audience was also given another surprise in the form of special promotions. One of the promotions was provided by BRI. As information, Jazz Gunung Ijen 2024 is in collaboration with BRI. At the event held on Saturday, (17/8/2024), BRImo surprised everyone with a special promotion of a BRIMO balance worth Rp100 thousand for those who open a BRITAMA account.

Additionally, other promotions were also offered, such as BRITAMA savings account holders receiving a balance of Rp200 thousand if they top up the Top Up Dana program.
