Collaborating with Raim Laode, Aruma Releases 'Expectation'

Kapanlagi.com - Talented female soloist, Nidewi Aruman or known as Aruma, has released her latest work. This time, Aruma collaborates with Raim Laode and releases a song titled 'Expectation'.

Just like her previous song titled 'Muak', Aruma entrusted the songwriting to Aditya Sahid with the assistance of Raim Laode. When given the opportunity to collaborate with Raim, Aruma expressed her happiness.

"I am very happy to be able to collaborate with Kak Raim because he has a strong voice character and his works are also beautiful. This collaboration also gives me new experiences and a lot of knowledge that I gained here," she said to reporters recently.

On the same page with Aruma, Raim also welcomes this collaboration. According to him, Aruma has a beautiful voice and he is happy to be part of Aruma's journey in the Indonesian music industry.

"Her smile and gentle voice will be her weapons to navigate the long journey. I am happy to witness, and even be a part of, Aruma's journey," he said.

1. There are Unique Challenges

Although the production of this single did not take too long, Aruma admits that there are unique challenges compared to when working on her first song.

"Unlike Muak, which I sang from my own perspective, in this song, I have to be able to convey two different perspectives well. We have to produce harmonious tones with cohesive lyrics so that the meaning of this song reaches the listeners," she explained.

According to Raim, the recording process of 'Ekspektasi' was not as difficult as imagined, except for finding the basic tone. “Male and female voices tend to differ because the basic tone in a female voice is much higher than in a male voice. The challenge might be finding a comfortable basic tone for both me and Aruma to sing,” he explained.

2. Common Reality

Writing Expectations with Adit, Raim explained that this song tells about the reality that often happens to humans now, being friends with expectations and familiar with heartache.

"The inspiration comes from a piece of my long-distance story with Komang before we got married years ago. In the lyrics, there is a specific sentence that I once said to Komang at that time," he said.

As is known, under the auspices of Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia, Aruma achieved great success with Muak. On Spotify, Muak repeatedly became the best playlist choice. Not to mention that the Muak music video has been watched 13 million times in the last seven months. Meanwhile, Ekspektasi has just started its journey since its release on June 30th.
