Debut Single Release Good For You Under Major Label, More on Mumbles: Excited but Nervous

Kapanlagi.com - Duo More on Mumbles, consisting of Awan and Lintang, has finally released their debut single under Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia (SMEI). Good For You marks the beginning of More on Mumbles' professional career in the Indonesian music industry.

Previously, the duo from Yogyakarta had released several works independently. Joining one of the major labels in Indonesia, Lintang and Awan felt excited but also mixed with nervousness.

"First of all, we are touched because we have been doing everything by ourselves, and now there are many people who help and are experts in their respective fields. So, the work that comes out feels more well-crafted and maximal," said Lintang to reporters recently.

"Secondly, we are nervous. It's our debut, so we don't know how the response will be and people's response is beyond our control. Hopefully, this debut work will be liked and open up many paths for us to continue to develop," he continued.

1. Making SMEI Fall in Love

Good For You is the song that made SMEI fall in love with More on Mumbles. Awan and Lintang uploaded their live performance of the song on the internet and it caught the label's radar.

"We uploaded a snippet of this song on Instagram and it turned out that one of Sony's A&R, Mas Yudhis, was hooked. From there, Mas Yudhis and Mas Keke from Sony contacted us to join them around January last year," said Awan.

Good For You tells a story of a separation. However, in this song, separation is not only about a couple. Separation can be about friendship or other interesting things to be discussed and brought into this song.

2. Offering Interesting Musical Colors

More on Mumbles offers an attractive concept of music and visual appearance. Although the concept of a duo already existed before, such as Endah n Rhesa and Stars and Rabbit, More on Mumbles offers a different concept of songs.

"The most noticeable thing might be the way we write our song lyrics, often mixing English and Indonesian language. Lintang was inspired by her older sister who also likes to write mixed lyrics. Besides Good For You which has been released, there are also other songs with mixed language. It's really fun to make, hopefully it's also fun to listen to," said Lintang.

More on Mumbles' debut single with SMEI is expected to be a good start for the collaboration between Awan and Lintang. “Good For You” can already be heard on all digital music platforms, while the music video can be watched on YouTube.
