Dul Jaelani Rearranges 'Separuh Nafas', Here's Ahmad Dhani's Reaction

"The challenge is, what is it, it’s not about how to make it different from the original, that’s all. Because it’s also sacred, we are afraid to change it, but what’s wrong with trying something new, and I’ve already got my dad’s permission," said Dul Jaelani when met at Bajawa Kemang, South Jakarta, Friday (22/5/2026).

Vega Antares, the production team as well as the music producer, helps clarify the regulations regarding the permits they pursue. He emphasizes the difference between the permit for a new master recording and the permit to perform a song live on stage.

According to Vega, the permit they are operating under is purely for the purpose of re-recording. This is different from the ongoing debate about performing rights that has often been discussed in the domestic music industry.

"It's just that if it helps clarify, maybe yes, because what we are actually doing is obtaining permission for the recording. To create a new master, of course, that has different regulations," explained Vega Antares.

Furthermore, Vega explained that the permission to perform those songs at today's launching event is also secure. This is because they are using their own recorded master that has official permission.

"Well, today I have permission to sing on stage, but since we have a new master that we just recorded with official permission, there’s no problem," said Vega Antares.

Dul himself mentioned that he has played his work for Ahmad Dhani. Although not in detail, he revealed that there was a personal discussion between him and his father regarding the song Separuh Nafas."Just one song. The Separuh Nafas. The comments are a secret.
