ERK and .Feast Reveal the Contents of Riders While Performing, Simple, Doesn't Complicate the Committee

Kapanlagi.com - The topic of musicians' riders is once again widely discussed after Ari Lasso spoke out about the complicated requests from new singers. He believes that requests during performances should not complicate promoters or organizers.

However, contrary to common assumptions, two of the country's renowned alternative bands, Efek Rumah Kaca (ERK) and .Feast, actually show the opposite attitude. They choose simple and realistic riders so as not to burden the organizers.

ERK's vocalist, Cholil Mahmud, explained that their requests have always been very basic. They only ask for mineral water, fruit, and light snacks as provisions before or after performing.

1. Not Excessive

"If now, it's mineral water, fruit, and sometimes snacks. If there are no market snacks, they will definitely buy things like wafers or chips," said Cholil when met in the Kemang area, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (8/7/2025).

In addition, Cholil mentioned that the committee often provides heavy meals, such as boxed rice, and sweet drinks to replenish energy after performing. For him, such things are still reasonable and not excessive.

"Then sometimes the organizers also provide big meals like boxed rice. And for drinks, we usually need something sweet after performing, whether it's tea or coconut water," he explained.

2. More Aware

He also said that ERK is becoming more aware of consumption and waste. Now they prefer to use gallon water and bring their own tumbler instead of asking for single-use bottled water.

"Before it was carbonated, but now it seems like it’s not, so now it's mostly coconut water or tea. And usually, we try to ‘oh minimize’ if we can use a gallon, then we just bring the tumbler," said Cholil.

3. Not Troubling

Meanwhile, found in the same place, the guitarist of .Feast, Adnan, also emphasized that his band never asks for anything strange. Their riders can be fulfilled by shopping at nearby stores like minimarkets.

"What can be found at Alfamart, Indomaret, mini markets, that's easy. For the committee, it's not difficult, not troubling," said Adnan.
