General Maya Releases New Album, Band Members Break New Record

Kapanlagi.com - Three members of the band BIP, Bongky, Indra, and Pay formed a new project called General Maya. As their debut, they released an album titled 'General Maya'. In this album, General Maya collaborated with three famous Indonesian singers, namely David Bayu (vocalist of Naif), Roy Jeconiah (former vocalist of Boomerang), and Rudhjack.

1.Positive Reception

Bongky, as the bassist of General Maya, feels happy that their debut album has been released. He hopes that the album General Maya can inspire many people. Moreover, after forming General Maya, they immediately received positive reception from their fans.

"Alhamdulillah, we can create (art) again. Hopefully, it can bring inspiration to the youth. We are happy that our feelings can be conveyed, seeing the response on social media is quite lively and the attention is quite high." Yes, hopefully we can continue to maintain our relationship," said Bongky during a live Instagram session @Sehattenteremcenter, Saturday (6/3/2021).

2.Staying Productive During the Pandemic

In line with Bongky, Indra as the keyboardist of General Maya also feels happy that the album General Maya is finally released. Moreover, this album was produced during the Covid-19 pandemic.

"Yes, I'm happy. I'm happy that we can create again in this pandemic situation. But what's clear is that this situation leads us to create a virtual community. All virtual activities are born online. So we're online all the time," said Indra

3.Record Time for Album Production

The album General Maya was produced in a relatively short time, only two weeks. Of course, this is a new experience for General Maya to produce an album in such a short time.

"It's a record for me too, mixing the whole album in four days. It's a record for me, so it's really 'wow'. Hopefully there will be more records in the future. I feel like I'm back in the old recording days, the fifth album (Slank), because of the focus," said Indra

"So it's the same as BIP, it never ends. We broke up after a week, everyone got busy. It didn't feel like it, it felt like just a week and then two weeks. That's how focused we were, it didn't feel like it," added Indra.

4. Good Facilities and Compact Team

In addition, General Maya's recording place is also quite comfortable, they also have a very compact team. Automatically, the production of the General Maya album is very fast.

"Because there are facilities too, it's fun, it's been a long time. Everything runs smoothly because this is a team, the team is indeed compact because we have to be like this, we have to be like this. So keep synergizing and keep working. So far, the work is still good," Bongky concluded.

There are 10 new songs in the General Maya album, such as Generasi Sapi Perah (feat. David Bayu), Akamsi (feat. Roy Jeconiah), Gemah Ripah Loh Jinawi (feat. David Bayu), Kartel Akhir Zaman (feat. Roy Jeconiah).

Next, Generasi Maya (vocal by Pay), Slow lah Genk (vocal by Bongki), Bangun Indonesia Raya (feat. Roy Jeconiah), Pancasila Sudah Final (feat. Roy Jeconiah), Manipulasi Merdeka (feat. Roy Jeconiah), and Jujur Pangkal Bahagia (feat. Rudhjack).
