Jasmine Nadya Expresses Regret in Her Latest Single "Sorry I Phone You"

Kapanlagi.com - After releasing her second single "Favorite Art", Jasmine Nadya took a break of over a year before finally releasing her latest single on September 20, 2024. Titled "Sorry I Phone You", this soloist born on May 14, 2005, tells a story of regret in a relationship.

"Taking inspiration from personal experience, I created 'Sorry I Phone You' as an expression of my regret for being in a relationship with someone I never imagined I would be with from the start. I reached out to him first out of fear of loneliness, so this song serves as an apology because I shouldn't have done that," Jasmine shared.

Still written by herself and using English for the entire lyrics, this girl who also loves photography felt that the challenge was during the recording. However, with the help from the Sony Music team, the process went smoothly until it could be heard by music lovers. According to Jasmine, there is something new she feels in this single. It's not related to the music, but rather her character that feels changed.

"While my two previous songs talked about the feeling of falling in love, here, I pour out a more personal story, which is the feeling of guilt and regret for what I have done. Therefore, I hope this song can express the feelings of those who have experienced the same thing, but have not yet expressed it in a song like this." I also hope this work can be a "bridge" that is stronger between me and my listeners," he continued.

Releasing her third single “Sorry I Phone You” is seen by Jasmine as a great responsibility towards the label that supports her. However, this does not diminish her gratitude and happiness for having this opportunity, which gives her new motivation to continue to grow. Through her latest song, Jasmine acknowledges that she has found the direction of her musical taste, which is folk.

“The previous two singles were like an introduction to me as a singer. “The three words that feel fitting to describe this song are ‘Dark’, I want the aura to be darker compared to my previous two dreamy and bright songs because this song depicts a regret; ‘Intimate’, I always want my listeners to feel the intimacy with the voice and emotions that I pour into each work; and lastly ‘Sentimental’ because there is a personal reflection that I want my listeners to feel as well, from the arrangement, the voice, to the message conveyed,” Jasmine concluded.
