Jimi Multhazam Says The Upstairs is Preparing a New Version of the Songs 'Satelit' and 'Dansa Akhir Pekan' - Re-recording and Remixing

Not without reason, The Upstairs wants to rejuvenate their old works to sound fresher. Several songs from the albums Magnet-Magnet and Energy will also be re-recorded or remixed.

"So The Upstairs is mostly about rejuvenating artifacts, right? So like from Magnet! Magnet!, Energy is actually the recording... even though it's a very successful album for us, as artists we actually haven't gotten the feel of it in that album back then," explained Jimi.

This process is done to give a chance for songs that are rarely heard to be enjoyed by more people. According to Jimi, there are several songs that are actually potential but have received less attention.

"So there are several songs that should be heard by many people but are rarely listened to. Those that might get skipped when the songs are played, that's where we start from," said Jimi.

In this rejuvenation process, The Upstairs will be making various updates, ranging from re-recording to remixing. The goal is to make their old songs more pleasant to listen to with better production quality.

"Yes, there are some that we re-recorded, there are a few that we remixed, something like that. So back when we did Magnet! Magnet!, the mixing knowledge was still quite basic, the important thing was to meet the deadline. But now we're making it more ear-friendly," said Jimi.

Out of all the songs, The Upstairs chose Satellite and Weekend Dance to be re-released first. For Jimi, Satellite is the song whose lyrics he is most proud of. "Especially because it's for me. So, Satellite is, in my opinion, the song by The Upstairs whose lyrics I am really proud to have written," concluded Jimi.
