This uniquely voiced singer reveals that there will be an interesting shift in the overarching theme of her upcoming album. If her previous works were largely centered around her personal experiences, this time she will take on the role of a narrator telling the stories of the people around her.
"As for the album, it is currently in preparation. Stay tuned for the door. Not long now, but not tomorrow," said Yura Yunita when met in the Kalibata area, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (11/4/2025).
The single "What Do You Want to Be" serves as a bridge to the concept of the new album. This song itself is inspired by the anxieties and existential questions she observes from her friends and surroundings, not purely from her internal experiences.
This storytelling concept, according to Yura, will be a strong thread in her upcoming fourth album.
"And the common thread about the album has actually emerged. So the songs that will be in this fourth album are that Yura, as the singer, is not the center of the story," she revealed.
She further explained her new role as a storyteller in her works in the upcoming album.
"But instead, Yura will narrate the stories of the people around me," she concluded.
