Kapanlagi.com - The acid pop jazz band, THE GROOVE, has been active in the Indonesian music industry for a long time. Although they were popular in the 90s, they still release new works until now, such as their latest EP release titled Sejiwa.
In this EP, The Groove collaborates with top musicians, such as Tiara Effendy and DIRA on vocals. The song titled Lebih Indah was chosen as the first single from the album and was released in early June 2023.
The idea for this song came from Reza, the vocalist who wanted to lift the story of a reunion after a long time apart, remembering the beauty of the journey of love and blossoming back into something more beautiful than before.
The initial arrangement process was made by Ari Firman (bass) who translated it into a joyful and dance up beat notation that represents the impression of happiness, followed by ideas from other personnel. In addition to inviting Tiara Effendy on vocals, we were also supported by Dody Is as vocal director and vocal editor, as well as Ava Victoria and the team who gave a string arrangement touch that made this song even more beautiful.
Not only that, after Lebih Indah, the song Sejiwa which collaborates with DIRA can also be listened to on Digital Store Platforms. Other songs will be released along with the EP album launch in the near future.
Previously, the song Sejiwa was performed live for the first time by The Groove on the last day of The Jakarta International BNI Java Jazz Festival 2023 at JIExpo Kemayoran Jakarta, Sunday (4/6).
Before inviting female singer Dira to collaborate on the Java Jazz stage, the group, currently consisting of Ari Firman (bass), Arie Arief (guitar), Destanto Putrandito (keyboards), Deta Gunima (drums), Rejoz (percussion), and Reza Hernanza (vocals), performed by inviting Tiara Effendy to play some of their hit songs.
