Melly Goeslaw's Song 'Catatanku' is Now Sung by Rafathar Malik Ahmad, Here's the Recording Process

Kapanlagi.com - The child of Raffi Ahmad and Nagita Slavina, Rafathar Malik Ahmad, sang a song on Melly Goeslaw's compilation album MASTERPIECES. On the album, Rafathar sang one of Melly Goeslaw's songs titled Catatanku, a collaboration hit with former child artist, Ibrahim Khalil Alkatiri, also known as Baim.

Melly Goeslaw explained that the recording process of the song Catatanku with Rafathar Malik Ahmad was almost the same as when she recorded the song with Baim. The difference is that the recording with Baim was done in the studio, but this time Melly only recorded with Rafathar through voice notes. This was done because the recording process was during the Covid-19 pandemic.

"The recording with Baim was word by word. That was during the pandemic, we sent voices. Word by word. Baim was in the studio, but it went well, Alhamdulillah," said Melly Goeslaw at KFC Kemang, South Jakarta, on Monday (21/3).

Melly said that the process of selecting songs to be included in the Melly Goeslaw MASTERPIECES compilation album was quite difficult. Considering that Melly's own songs are so many. To choose the songs and singers, Melly was directly assisted by Mayangsari who became the executive producer on the album.

"Curating is the hardest part because I have a lot of songs, so choosing only 10 is very difficult, there must be several parts. But, what we choose now together with Mayang for brainstorming but we find the song first, someone chooses to sing first oh this person is suitable for this, we get this song for whom," said Melly.

In addition to Rafathar, several singers of various ages are featured in Melly Goeslaw's MASTERPIECES compilation album.
