Music Video Release 'Keras Kepala', Meiska Highlights the Reality of Differences in Relationships

The song Keras Kepala has been streamed by 30 million Indonesian music lovers on the digital music platform Spotify. Its music video features a concept about two people who know that their relationship will not last and will not succeed, but they still try to maintain it.

“We are highlighting a phenomenon that often occurs in Indonesian society, such as class, religious, or racial differences, and we feel that Keras Kepala can represent the feelings of friends who experience such things,” Meiska said in a written statement.

This concept has apparently been thought of by Meiska and the Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia team for several months, which is why the production of this music video has only been realized now.

"The gap between the release of Keras Kepala, which is part of the album Hanya Figuran, and the making of this music video is indeed quite far, about three months. That’s because we wanted to listen to the responses from netizens regarding Keras Kepala so that we could convey a story that is closest to the situations that often occur. After reading various comments, we feel that the story of differences in religion, race, and social class is something that this song can represent," explained Meiska.

"In this music video, I want to be closer to the experiences of my friends and be able to represent what they feel. For that reason, I decided to choose a story that is often experienced by friends in Indonesia, namely the difference in religion within a relationship. I hope this can represent the feelings of anyone who has ever been in such a relationship," she added.

2. Filmed in Yogyakarta

Filmed over two days, Yogyakarta was chosen by Meiska for the shooting of Keras Kepala. Besides its diverse scenery, she specifically chose the city for its culinary offerings.

The shooting took place at Laguna Glagah and residential areas around the city of Yogyakarta as the backdrop. Meiska is grateful that the making of this music video went smoothly, even though at that time she had to manage it alongside her lectures.

Meiska hopes to receive positive feedback from music lovers in the homeland, especially those who have been following her career journey.
