Kapanlagi.com - Another great work has been made by Once Mekel. Yes, the former vocalist of Dewa 19 is involved in a climate change campaign project filled by several world-class musicians such as Derek Sherinian, Ron 'Bumblefoot' Thal, Simon Phillips, Jeff Scott Soto, and Billy Sheehan.
Through this project, a song titled Human Race is created. Once also sings the song together with Dino Jelusic, a singer from Croatia, and not to forget Jeff Scott Soto.
In his Instagram post, Once Mekel explains about this project. He also showcases a snippet of the song Human Race. Interestingly, the song is also arranged with traditional Indonesian musical instruments like gamelan.
"'HUMAN RACE' is a charity song recorded by musicians from USA, Croatia & Indonesia in 2021. DREAM Team Project is organized by Indra Putra, Derek Sherinian, Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal, & Edo Widiz. The song will be used to raise funds for the 'ReForest Our Planet' Program by ForestNation @imagineforestnation," writes Once quoted from the @oncemekelofficial account.

Once is not the only Indonesian musician involved. There is also Edo Widiz who participated in this project. Meanwhile, the proceeds from the song Human Race will be used to grow the Human Race Forest, a collaboration with ForestNation.
"This forest will create sustainable livelihoods for those affected by deforestation and help in our collective fight against climate change," said Andrew Pothecary, founder of ForestNation, as quoted from NCN.
