Concert 2018
After 14 years, the global pop diva, Mariah Carey, held a concert in Indonesia titled HIMBARA Borobudur Symphony 2018 - MARIAH CAREY Live In Concert at Taman Lumbini, Borobudur Temple, Central Java, on Tuesday (6/11) night, promoted by PT. Taman Wisata Candi (TWC) Borobudur, Prambanan, Ratu Boko. For those who missed it, you can see the photos here!
Drizzling rain fell on the Borobudur Temple area. However, it did not dampen the spirits of Mariah Carey's die-hard fans, or Lambs, to meet their idol. Mariah did not disappoint.
At around 20:25 WIB, the moment everyone was waiting for arrived. Yes, Mariah Carey appeared on stage with 4 band members, 4 backup dancers, and 3 backing vocalists after opening with the song Indonesia Raya.
Without wasting time, the song Fly Away opened the performance of the singer who is now 48 years old. The audience was happy to hear the beautiful voice of the diva.
"Te..ri..ma...kasih," said Mariah Carey while spelling it out a bit. Hearing their idol speak Indonesian, thousands of pub-goers screamed hysterically. Mariah Carey also commented on the rain that had fallen.
Mariah Carey felt honored to perform in front of Borobudur Temple. For your information, her concert at Borobudur Temple is the only outdoor concert of Mariah Carey in this year's world tour.
In this concert, Mariah Carey performed about 18 songs. Shake It Off, Honey, Always Be My Baby, Make It Happen, Beautiful, One Sweet Day, It's Like That, and We Belong Together were among the setlist.
For about 90 minutes, Mariah Carey performed flawlessly, satisfying the audience with her melodious voice.
During the concert, Mariah Carey wore three sequin dresses. First, she wore a knee-length dark purple sequin dress. Then, for several songs, she wore a long black sequin dress that made her even more beautiful.
Closing with the song Hero, Mariah Carey was able to heal the longing of thousands of her fans. After this concert, Mariah Carey will head straight to another stage.
