Amidst the lively discussions about royalties from songwriters that many musicians in Indonesia are currently debating, Melly Goeslaw uploaded proof of a transfer she received from WAMI. She provided a lengthy writing about the royalties she automatically receives from the Collective Management Institution (LMK).

One of the topics discussed by Melly is the uncertain amount of royalties, which can range from hundreds of thousands to hundreds of millions. She hopes that LMK will continue to improve itself for the better.

Melly Goeslaw has just showcased the transfer results from the Collective Management Institution (LMK) WAMI for her songs. She displayed the proof of transfer through her personal Instagram account on Monday, (25/3) yesterday.

Although in her post Melly did not show the numerical amount, this singer and songwriter has given permission to WAMI to publish her royalty amount. With this, Melly hopes to inspire other musicians to continue creating.

"Alhamdulillah. Just lounging and watching TV, got a transfer from LMK @wami.id. Alhamdulillah, a blessing from Allah SWT, Alhamdulillah, thank you WAMI, what I received is in accordance with the use of my songs. Oh yes, this royalty is not fixed, sometimes I get royalties of over 100 thousand rupiah, but often I receive hundreds of millions, it all depends on how many of my songs are used," wrote Melly.

Melly revealed that she once thought that the song "Salah" by the band Potret would earn a lot of royalties, but it turned out not to be the case. "I once felt that the song 'SALAH' by POTRET should have received big royalties, but in reality, it was small. Apparently, the song was only popular mostly in South Jakarta, unlike the songs 'TEGAR', 'MENGHITUNG HARI', etc., which continue to play in karaoke and so on," explained Melly.

"I believe that if all users diligently pay what should be paid according to the existing regulations, then the income of song creators will increase, but once again 'according to usage'," wrote Melly.

"Keep the spirit of creating, don't forget to give, don't forget to share and pay attention to elderly artists and those who are sick, as has been done for 15 years by GaSS, respect for @gegedug_gass. May our LMK continue to beautify ourselves, improve ourselves, fix what is lacking, and enhance what is already good. More transparent and accountable," Melly prayed.
