Putri Bimbim Slank, Mezzaluna Releases Second Single 'I Beg' Written Directly From Personal Experience

She is now one of the talented young singers and also the daughter of musician Bimbim Slank. Mezzaluna has released her latest single titled I Beg. This 20-year-old woman explained that the song I Beg was written based on her personal experience when she was still in high school. From that experience, she immediately poured it into the lyrics of the song I Beg. It's different when there's artistic blood, every problem is turned into a song. "I wrote this song based on my personal experience when I was still in high school. I really immersed myself in my feelings and made this song in ten minutes. The song was initially very short, but the bridge part came later and I am very proud of the end result," said Mezzaluna, Tuesday (8/3/2022).

In presenting this latest song, it turns out Mezzaluna is not alone. Not assisted by her father but the song I Beg, collaborated again with producer Gio Wibowo and creative director Deby Sucha. This is the second collaboration between Mezzaluna and Gio Wibowo and Deby Sucha. Previously, they also collaborated on Mezzaluna's debut song In Situ.

"I worked with Deby Sucha again for the music video of I Beg. This time I entrusted everything to her because I admire her work in the In Situ video," said Mezzaluna.

2. Stepping Out of Comfort Zone

The song I Beg blends well with Mezzaluna's distinctive vocals expressing disappointment and despair. The gloomy piano melody rises in the chorus as she hopes for an answer. "Deby has a clever idea by making my music video like karaoke and it's amazing. Although it's a bit different from my usual style, I'm glad to step out of my comfort zone and try something new," added Mezzaluna.

In the song I Beg, there is also a string section that comes in as the piano notes get louder accompanying Mezzaluna's vocals. The bridge represents acceptance of ignorance and an uncontrollable situation, slowly transforming darkness into hope. Wow, Mezzaluna's latest song is also amazing.

“I want to create an arrangement as grand as the James Bond theme song. So, my biggest inspiration for this song is Adele's Skyfall and Sam Smith's Writing's on the Wall. I think this theme is most suitable for my image and vocal range," said Mezzaluna.

4. Debut as a Singer

The song In Situ marks Mezzaluna's debut in the Indonesian music industry. With English lyrics, In Situ brings a blend of jazz, neo-soul, and alt-pop genres. Of course, it is very different from the music genre played by Bimbim with Slank.
