Release of Album 'Manusia', Tulus Presents New Colors and Elegant Language

Kapanlagi.com - As a form of celebration for 10 years of work in the Indonesian music industry, Tulus has just released his latest album titled Manusia. This 5th album was worked on over a period of two years.

Tulus also revealed the reason for titling the album Manusia because this album is a representation of the songs in it that tell the various dynamics of human feelings.

"In this Manusia album, it tells a lot of dynamic feelings that we as humans experience, so the songs written in it are also based on stories that I have experienced, stories that I have seen, my interaction with others, my interaction with myself. All of that is summarized into an album called Manusia," said Tulus during a virtual press conference, Friday (4/3).

1. Experiencing Many Developments

Compared to previous albums, Tulus said the album Manusia has experienced many developments. Starting from the lyrics writing, music arrangements to the musicians involved.

"In addition to the developing perspective of the writing, the arrangements in this album also developed. The colors in this album are also new and that's what me and all the talents try to offer," said Tulus.

2. Elegant Language

Through this album, Tulus also presents lyrics that are more mature while prioritizing the elegance of the Indonesian language. There are 10 songs in this album with the flagship single titled Tujuh Belas.

"Indeed, my exploration in songwriting is very enjoyable. In this album, Manusia, what is emphasized is the exploration of the use of the Indonesian language in all its elegance," he explained.

3. Reasons for Giving the Color Blue

Not only that, what sets this album apart is that Tulus adds a touch of blue to the album cover. As known from his previous four albums, Tulus always used black, white, and gray colors.

"Because this album offers a new color in terms of lyrics and arrangements. When discussing what color represents this, we chose a color that is still related to our previous journey, so it feels like progress but also feels fresh, and that's how the color blue was born," explained Tulus.

4. New But Familiar

Although it has a new color, a new interpretation, and evolving music genres, this album does not change Tulus' character.

"When releasing a new album, I always try to present something new, but it doesn't sound unfamiliar. So, friends who listen will get something new, but it still feels familiar to their ears when they listen," concluded Tulus.
