Release of Debut Single Titled 'Romantika Remaja', FANTASY Ventures into the Music Industry

Kapanlagi.com - FANTASY has released their debut single titled Romantika Remaja. This duo from Malang is venturing into the music industry, proving that the pandemic does not diminish their creativity.

They used to be a full band formed by Gangga Mascoditos, also known as Dito (Lead Guitar, Bass, Piano, Keyboard), and Deva Deffa Gustiawan (Vocal Guitar). Now, they are left with only two members, Dito and Deva.

Both of them agreed to collaborate again for the release of their debut single. According to Dito, the song Romantika Remaja has been around for quite some time and it was created by Dito with the assistance of Deva.

“I made this song mostly by myself, then I showed it to Deva, and he provided input on the lyrics. Since we not only went to the same high school but also lived next to each other, we could gather every night to create songs together,” explained Dito in a phone conversation with the media on Friday (31/12/21).

1. About First Love at First Sight

Furthermore, Dito added that lyrically, this song tells about first love at first sight, which is about the story of two human beings who fall in love with each other, wrapped in the music they call Retro.

"The lyrics of this song tell the story of a boy and a girl who fall in love at first sight. Then for the genre, we call it Retro," Dito added.

"Actually, this song has been created for quite a long time since we were in high school, heavily influenced by the music we listen to every day. Maybe we were too influenced by The Beatles, Queen, Bee Gees, Air Supply, and many more. It doesn't mean that we don't like contemporary music. We also have many non-retro songs," Deva said.

2. Full of Charisma

The spirit of the beat and the melody of those popular bands' songs are truly full of charisma for us. Especially after we re-learned the biopic of the struggle of those legendary bands who "from no one become someone". That's crazy. That always inspires us," Deffa added.

When participating in band competitions, Fantasy always performs their own works. Therefore, Dito admitted that he has actually created many songs with various genres. So when they step forward, they are ready with their works.

"Actually, I have created many songs and not all of them are of the same genre or just retro. But because we think this song is cool, that's why we released it first. The song "Romantika Remaja" that is released now, we used to perform it often when we won competitions and at several events, but for the release now, we rearranged it to make it more easily accepted in the current era," he added.

3. Prior Release of Single

Currently, Fantasy is indeed releasing a single first. After a few singles are released, the plan is to continue with the release of an album.

"Right now, Deva and I agree to release a single first. After the release of several singles, God willing, the two of us will release an album. Please pray for everything to go smoothly," Dito added.

Historically, the band Fantasy has only been around for about 2 years. Then they went on hiatus because at that time they were in their 3rd year of high school and had to focus on exams. However, when they graduated from high school, they were all accepted into state universities, but in different majors.

At that time, Dito attended two universities simultaneously. Mechanical Engineering at ITS and Veterinary Medicine at Airlangga University, Deva entered ITS Shipbuilding Polytechnic, and other members entered the Faculty of Economics at Airlangga University and Environmental Engineering at ITS.
