Raisa has just released her new English single titled You. This fast-tempo song's lyrics were written by Gamaliel Tapiheru. This is Gamal's first experience writing lyrics for a singer other than the other GAC members. Let's find out more about Raisa and Gamal's collaboration!
"This is the first song I wrote for another musician, apart from Audrey and Cantika. Initially, I was entrusted to write songs together with Raisa, but in the process, I wrote everything," said Gamaliel during the release of the song You in the Bangka area, South Jakarta, Wednesday (9/10/2019).
Besides being friends, it turns out that this is not the first time they have worked together. Gamaliel had previously been a vocal director for Raisa's album 'Handmade'.
"Raisa is the first musician to trust me with a project. Maybe you guys know that I often become a vocal director for other musicians, and Raisa was the first one to jump into it," added Gamaliel.
The song 'You' itself has an upbeat tempo, although it is more cheerful, the song is still about love. Furthermore, the song tells the madness felt when falling in love.
"'You' is about the madness people experience when they're in love. Usually, it's a rollercoaster relationship, where the mind and heart often argue. The heart says yes, the mind says no," said the wife of actor Hamish Daud.
The song 'You' is not the first time Raisa has performed an English song. Previously, there were 'Bye Bye', 'My Kind Of Crazy', and 'Love You Longer'.
Known for her soulful mellow songs, the song 'You' takes Raisa out of her comfort zone.
