Senior Singer Niken Septikasari Comeback After a Long Break with the Single 'Ya Cuma Kamu'

Kapanlagi.com - In the midst of an ongoing pandemic, artists must remain creative if they want to survive in the Indonesian entertainment industry. This is also done by senior singer Niken Septikasari, who recently released a single titled 'Ya Cuma Kamu' composed by F. Manalu.

The woman, who is also the owner of Citra Visual Mandiri Production House, has been known to not release any songs for quite some time due to her busy schedule managing her family business. Niken had prepared several scenarios, but she has not been able to materialize them into film works.

"It's been too long in lockdown. I haven't been able to make a film yet, so everything is done at home," Niken said during a recent interview with the media in Jakarta.

About 2 months ago, Niken was interested in recording again. She contacted some of her friends, including senior musician-singer Julius Sitanggang, to help with the music arrangement. The entire production process was done at home.

"So everything was done at home, from recording, making music videos, to the models, which were my children. The director was my friend, and my husband helped with the song and music video," she continued.

"I missed recording, it's been a long time since I sang. The last time was for the soundtrack of the movie UNTUK ANGELINE in 2016. It's a remedy for longing and filling the void during the pandemic before making another film," Niken said.

2. About Niken Septikasari

As a singer, Niken Septikasari's name is well-known among the 90s generation. Niken is one of the most frequently invited singers to perform at state events at the State Palace in Jakarta, specifically during the era of President Soeharto's administration.

"My father, Suyoto, saw his only daughter's interest in singing and formed a band called NIKEN brother's band. We often performed on TVRI and expanded to accompany famous artists of that time, becoming regular performers at government events, as well as at the Police, the Military, and the State Palace," she recalled.

After getting married, Niken started a new busy life helping her husband's business. Niken also established PH Kampung Sinema, producing several reality shows on private TV stations. Niken later founded PH Citra Visual Sinema, which has now produced several well-known feature films, including UNTUK ANGELINE, which caused quite a buzz when it was released.
