Kapanlagi.com - Two world legendary rock music supergroups, Scorpions and Whitesnake, are ready to shake Yogyakarta. Yes, both will be present at the JogjaROCKarta Festival (JRF) 4th edition which will be held at Kridosono Stadium, Yogyakarta on Sunday (1/3).

Scorpions and Whitesnake arrived in Yogyakarta on Friday (28/2) at 10.00 AM. However, unfortunately, only Scorpions were present during the press conference at Hotel Tentrem, Yogyakarta, on Saturday (29/2). During the press conference, Scorpions vocalist, Klaus Meine, reminisced when asked about Indonesia.

Apparently, since he was a child, Klaus Meine already knew about Indonesia. At that time, he was taken by his parents to watch a circus. In the circus show, there was also a music performance featuring a band of Indonesian descent, Tielman Brothers.

"When I was little, I watched a circus show in my city with my parents. Then there was a band performance and I watched that band, Tielman Brothers," said Klaus Meine.

Tielman Brothers was originally formed by Andy (vocals, guitar), Reggy (guitar), Ponthon (bass), and Loulou Tielman (drums). They are the children of Herman Tielman, who comes from Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara, and Flora Lorine Hess. They became one of the pioneers of the rock and roll music genre in the Netherlands in the 1950s.

2. Familiar with Indonesia

Not only that, Rudolf Schenker, the guitarist of Scorpions, also admitted to having many memories with Indonesia. Before visiting Yogyakarta, Scorpions had played in several cities in Indonesia. This is what makes Rudolf Schenker feel familiar with Indonesia.

"We have performed in Indonesia, in Jakarta, Bandung, and Bali, and this is the first time in Yogyakarta," said Schenker.

At the end of the press conference, Klaus Meine also hoped that their performance would go smoothly. He also conveyed greetings from Whitesnake vocalist, David Coverdale, who could not attend the press conference.

"Hopefully the weather will be good tomorrow and we can party together. David also sends his greetings to you. Whitesnake is our long-time friend," said Klaus Meine.

In addition to Scorpions and Whitesnake, several Indonesian bands will also perform as the main stars. Among them are God Bless, Death Vomit, Navicula, and Kelompok Penerbang Roket who will enliven the festival organized by Rajawali Indonesia.
