Slank Releases New Album Titled 'VAKSIN', Recording Done Individually

Kapanlagi.com - Keeping their promise from last year, Slank finally released their latest album titled VAKSIN. Previously, during the Slank Fest 2020 event which was broadcast live on Slank's YouTube channel, they announced that they would give birth to a new work consisting of 10 songs.

There is something interesting behind the making of their 24th studio album, which is the different recording process from usual. They followed health protocols and did the recording process individually, from vocal takes to mixing and mastering.

"Recording it in a new style," said Bimbim Slank during the virtual launch event on Monday (18/1).

"It's really exciting. In my opinion, the result is even better than the usual recording, this is really new rules," added Ivanka Slank.

VAKSIN itself contains songs with various themes such as love, environment, social issues, and youth movements. The 10 songs are Introspection, New Normal Love, Vaccine, S.O.S Love, F.U, God is Warning Us, Don't Wake Up the Sleeping Tiger, Natural Selection, Don't Go, and Rhapsody Indonesia.

"This album is a contemplation, it contains many reflections. The songs were written throughout 2020, written at home because of COVID-19, so the content is all about the situation this year," Bimbim continued.

2. Meaning of VAKSIN

The name VAKSIN itself actually has no relation to the COVID-19 vaccine that has started to be given. However, this original Potlot 'potion' is believed to be able to provide mental immunity and maintain the immune system of the listeners. They also created a slogan that is inserted and becomes their hope for this album, which is 'an injection of love that nourishes the heart and enlightens the mind, Vaksin Slank'.

"Hopefully, this album can become the new rules for Slankers, its contents can be a guide to face the pandemic," concluded Bimbim.
