Songwriter Beyonce, Toby Gad Creates Single for Rahmania Astrini

A songwriter who has produced many world-class hits, such as "If I Were a Boy" (Beyonce), "Big Girls Don't Cry" (Fergie). Not only that, Toby Gad has also collaborated in writing songs with John Legend, titled "All of Me".

Of course, this is a very special moment for Astri to be able to sing a song by Toby Gad. Astri considers Toby Gad as a legendary songwriter whose works are known worldwide. "He (Toby) is a legendary figure. He created my all-time favorite song, If I Were a Boy," said Astri on Saturday (21/11/2020).

1. Admitting Initially Difficult

Collaborating with Toby Gad, Astri admits that it was initially difficult to follow the instructions from the songwriter. Moreover, Toby Gad himself is known to be a perfectionist when working on a piece.

"At first, it was a bit challenging to follow his frequency, but in the end, after hearing the result, I understand why he is so perfectionist," said Astri.

2. Many Lessons Learned

Throughout the process, Astri learned many lessons from Toby Gad. Clearly, this became an unforgettable experience for Astri to collaborate with the 52-year-old songwriter.

"It was really challenging, and I learnt a lot from it," said Astri. In the process, Astri felt many difficult notes to catch up with, "But it was also exciting, I'm pushing myself to way above my limits," she said.

The song "Shush" was released through the Warner Music Indonesia label. According to Astri, the single "Shush" is very personal. It tells the story of repaying someone's kindness.

"This song is about repaying the kindness to your significant other. Repaying all the kindness they have done for you," Astri concluded.
