Successfully Overcoming the Toughest Phase, Audrey Tapiheru Presents a New Work with Hidden Meaning

Kapanlagi.com - After a 2-year break in the Indonesian music industry, the beautiful singer Audrey Tapiheru, who is one of the members of GAC, will release a new EP or mini album titled LOVELOCK under the banner of Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia (SMEI).

There are three new songs in the EP, such as Dime, Menanti-Nanti, and Constantly You. In the EP LOVELOCK, Audrey addresses three themes at once, life, love, and the principles she has experienced.

"There is a little bit of venting, yes, I also long for things. I try to write songs about what I want to experience or what I have experienced," Audrey said in a virtual press conference on Monday (20/9/2021).

Audrey explained that there is a story behind each of the three songs included in the EP LOVELOCK. First, Dime, this song was written when she was enjoying her solitude. The second, Menanti-Nanti, has a similar story to Dime. Then, the song Constantly You, she wrote it when she was in a phase of enjoying her solitude, so the feeling can really hit.

This is Audrey's latest work after going through her toughest period when her beloved father passed away on October 29, 2020. At that time, the younger sister of singer Gamaliel Tapiheru admitted that she had lost her enthusiasm for music after her father left her forever.

1. Meaningful Songs in the EP

"The first one is Dime, the phase where I enjoy being by myself. The second song is about the phase when I was still alone, but I longed for someone to accompany me in happy times, titled Menanti-nanti. The last song tells the story of when I have found that someone. Usually, we have those moments where we write in lockets," Audrey concluded.

KLovers should know that the three songs in the LOVELOCK EP will be released gradually. Starting with the song Dime, which was released on September 22nd. Then, the song Menanti-Nanti on October 5th. Finally, the song Constantly You will be released on October 20th, 2021.

2. From Downfall to Rise

"So, 2020 was a really tough year for me, because since my father's health condition declined until God called him, I didn't have any mood to create," she said. However, thanks to the support from family, friends, and loved ones, Audrey regained her musical spirit. From there, she gave birth to the EP LOVELOCK.

"Finally in 2021, I felt like I wanted to rise. Luckily, I have an incredible support system. Finally, I made up my mind to create a mini album, but not releasing it all at once, but single by single," she said.
