Surprised by the Audience at Java Jazz Festival 2023, Laufey: I Was Trembling

Kapanlagi.com - Icelandic singer Laufey was one of the most anticipated performers on the first day of the BNI Java Jazz Festival 2023 held at Ji-Expo, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, on Friday (2/6/2023). Performing on the Tehbotol Sosro Hall stage, the audience had filled all the seats provided.

"Fragile" was the opening song for Laufey's performance at Java Jazz Festival 2023. After singing the song, Laufey was surprised to see the number of audience members who were present to witness her performance from the stage.

"This is a crazy crowd, I was trembling up here when I saw everyone. Thank you for coming tonight Jakarta," said Laufey from the stage.

Laufey then continued her performance with songs such as "Valentine", "James", "Beautiful Stranger", "Let You Break My Heart Again", and "I Wish You Love". The guitar and piano melodies she played seemed to mesmerize the audience watching her on stage.

"Have you ever fallen deeply in love with someone and they didn't care about you? This song is for you," she said.

Next, the 24-year-old singer sang Ella Fitzgerald's song "Misty". From the stage, she said that the song had always accompanied her since she was a child.

2. Unexpected

"It's so full here. These are the songs that accompanied me growing up. I never thought you would want to listen to these songs too. Thank you," said Laufey.

Before Laufey, the first day of the Tehbotol Sosro Hall stage was also enlivened by performances from Ardhito Pramono, Bob James Trio, and Mario Biondi.
