The Changcuters Reveal Reasons for Choosing Tour in the UK, Really Migrating to London

Based on research results and lengthy discussions, The Changcuters will begin their journey in Newcastle on April 15, followed by Edinburgh on April 17, and closing the tour series in London on April 19, 2026.

"This third (city) is the most ready to hold a paid event, meaning ticketed," Dipa said.

Thorough preparations are ongoing, especially regarding the technical challenges that are quite different between the entertainment industries in Indonesia and England. One of the biggest challenges for management is the coordination of sound equipment that must be rented individually from different vendors, unlike the bulk system of a single vendor that is common back home.

"And in terms of sound, equipment, and the venue, it is indeed the most competent after we have had discussion after discussion. Because we actually want the show to be like The Changcuters in Indonesia," said Dipa.

2. Logistics and Coordination

Regarding logistics, the personnel also have to adjust their flight schedules to Newcastle and Edinburgh, which require them to transit for two hours in Doha, Qatar. In addition, they must communicate intensively with the local crew in England to ensure that the desired sound quality standards are maintained properly.

"In terms of the sound system, the venue, everything is not done carelessly with the standards. So these three cities are proper," said Dipa.

Interestingly, this series of international tours coincidentally aligns with the 20th anniversary celebration of The Changcuters' work in the Indonesian music industry. Although the initial plan for this tour was conceived last year, the schedule shift has brought a unique blessing for the band's anniversary celebration.

"The parties in the UK, especially London, were last year. That's why I shifted it to this year. Oh, it turns out it's really 20 years, I just realized. So it's not exactly aligned," Dipa said.
