The Sweet Story of Emil Dardak and Arumi Bachsin's Love Poured into a New Song by Laleilmanino

Recently, Emil collaborated with Laleilmanino, consisting of Lale and Ilman (Maliq & D'Essentials), as well as Nino RAN to create songs and produce his latest music work. Laleilmanino is no stranger to music lovers in the country with their catchy songs, including Tak Ingin Pisah Lagi (Marion Jola ft. Rizky Febian), Gemintang Hatiku (Indonesian Idol), C.H.R.I.S.Y.E (Diskoria feat Eva Celia), and Rayu (Marion Jola). From the collaboration between Emil and Laleilmanino, a single titled Bidadari was born.

This song with super romantic lyrics turns out to be Emil's dedication to his wife, Arumi Bachsin, on their 8th wedding anniversary. The lyrics tell the story of Emil and Arumi's love journey during their dating period.

Bidadari, which has super romantic lyrics, is presented with a cheerful and upbeat rhythm, giving a cheerful atmosphere to anyone who listens.

"Because every time I'm tired, stressed from work, meeting Arumi who is always cheerful makes me smile again. That's why I wanted an uptempo song," said Emil.

1. Chemistry with Laeilmanino

The making of this song only took a short time and was almost without any obstacles. One of the supporting factors is Emil's compatibility with the music genre presented in Laleilmanino's works.

The same goes for Laleilmanino, who has also recognized Emil's vocal character. In 2011, Emil and Nino once became a duet pair in the jazz album Rendezvous Rieka Roeslan. The album also featured several Indonesian musicians such as the late Glenn Fredy and Angga Maliq & D'essentials.

"They are musicians whose works and music genres are extraordinary, and they also match with me," said Emil.

Nino added that Emil requested a song to be made for his wife. Emil wanted their dating period in the late 2011s with Arumi to be portrayed in a song. Initially, they were matched by Nyong Adek, who was their manager. They were given special nicknames, Bidu for Emil and Bida for Arumi, which eventually became their call to each other.

However, now they rarely use those nicknames. Arumi asked why Emil rarely used that nickname, which inspired Emil to create a song about Bidu and Bida.

2. Super Romantic Lyrics

In general, the lyrics of the song tell about the admiration of a Singer for an Angel who has captured his heart. Nino said that the song was made from a conversation with Emil in less than twenty minutes.

However, the challenge was not in the production process, but more on how to make Arumi not know until the day H comes. "Don't let it be known. It's troublesome because of hiding. But thankfully, the team is great," said Emil.

The music video Bidadari and the process of making the song can now be seen on YouTube. Starting from October 8, 2021, Bidadari can also be listened to on music streaming platforms such as Spotify, Joox, Apple Music, and Resso.

Emil and Arumi got married on August 30, 2013. Before venturing into politics, this man, born on May 20, 1984, pursued a career as a singer. At the age of 22, he had completed his doctoral education and released an album titled Sesaat Kau Hadir which contains eight songs of his own creation. On their seventh wedding anniversary, Emil also gave Arumi a song titled Dialah.
