The performers at the Jazz Gunung Bromo 2021 concert will be enlivened by Ring of Fire Project feat. Fariz RM, JANAPATI (Dewa Budjana and Tohpati), Dua Empat, Surabaya Pahlawan Jazz, and The Jam's (Otti Jamalus and Yance Manusama).

This information was conveyed during the Virtual Press Conference of Jazz Gunung Bromo 2021 held on Thursday, September 23, 2021, together with the President Director of BCA (Jahja Setiaatmadja), Sinarto (Head of East Java Tourism and Culture Office), Dewa Budjana, and Bintang Indrianto (Performer and Curator of Jazz Gunung Indonesia).

1. Strict Health Protocols

Jazz Gunung Indonesia greatly appreciates the government, performers, and audience who are disciplined in following health protocols and PPKM regulations. 

"I, representing Governor Khofifah Indarparawansa, greatly appreciate and support Jazz Gunung Bromo's steps when the PPKM level in East Java has dropped to level 2 and 1. More than 1 million domestic tourists have visited the Bromo-Tengger-Semeru tourist area before the pandemic. Hopefully, what Jazz Gunung is doing will help revive tourism in the area with strict health protocols that are implemented," said the Head of the East Java Culture and Tourism Office, Sinarto.

Everyone in the Jazz Gunung Bromo 2021 amphitheater area must follow health protocols, undergo antigen testing, and be vaccinated. The organizer also provides an adequate number of hand washing facilities and hand sanitizers.

"Musicians and artists are currently very disciplined. We are moving and adapting to the applicable health protocols in order to revive the music industry as it was before the pandemic. Hopefully, Jazz Gunung Bromo will become a benchmark for other events to adapt as well," said Dewa Budjana.

As one of the annual events, Jazz Gunung is challenged by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy to adapt and make a significant impact on its ecosystem.

"We have to live alongside the pandemic. We have lost the ability to enjoy music, especially jazz lovers who are used to live performances. And tourism, which is one of our main economic drivers, also needs to be stimulated. Jazz Gunung Bromo essentially aims to restore and remind us that tourism is one of the sources of foreign exchange and drives the local economy. It is a good combination of music and tourism. The holding of Jazz Gunung Bromo 2021 is a symbol of the revival of all sectors around Mount Bromo and the Probolinggo area.

Sigit Pramono added, Jazz Gunung Bromo 2021 will also serve as an example and a new standard for organizing music concerts in open spaces, especially in Indonesia, with very strict and disciplined protocols.

"With the organization of Jazz Gunung Bromo 2021, we want to emphasize that we must be ready to rise and adapt to the pandemic and PPKM regulations. This performance will be a kind of showcase, demonstrating how the government and community groups can organize concerts amidst the pandemic with very strict protocols," Sigit concluded.
