Vina Panduwinata Remembers the Late Aunt through the Single 'Perpisahan' by Loka Manya Prawiro

In 1961, Loka released the single Aku Makin Cinta which was popularized by Vina. And this time, after a long time, Loka is back to work and collaborate with Vina through the latest single titled Perpisahan. As the title suggests, the background of this song is a true story about Loka's sadness over the departure of his beloved mother.

According to Loka, Vina is the most suitable singer emotionally to perform the song Perpisahan. The reason is that Vina is very close to Loka's mother, also known as her aunt.

"I composed the song Perpisahan to commemorate my beloved mother who was called by God on November 18, 2018. It was a very difficult farewell because she was my soulmate. Vina's whole life was lived together with my mother, and for a farewell song that means so much to our mother, only Vina is worthy of singing it because Vina feels the same sadness," said Loka Prawiro in a press release received by KapanLagi.com.

"At that time, Loka asked me to come to his house and he let me listen to the song he composed for his mother, and he asked me to sing the song. When I heard the song, wow, it was very meaningful and I could see with my own eyes the deep sadness in Loka's heart over the loss of his mother. I feel that sadness is truly expressed in this song. And I also feel it because Loka's mother is my aunt," added Vina.

In addition to Vina, the song Perpisahan also involves several famous musicians, such as Aminoto Kosin as the producer and music arranger, Rayendra Sunito as the drummer, Jamie Wilson as the guitarist, and Budapest Scoring Orchestra.

Vina said that during the recording of this song, there were obstacles due to her hoarse voice. However, it turned out to be an unexpected element that added to the emotional feel of this song.

"Yes, at that time I asked for a vocal re-recording because my voice was hoarse. But they refused at that time, they said that my hoarse voice didn't disturb at all. Instead, it gave expression and created the right atmosphere for this song," said Vina Panduwinata about the recording process.

The song Perpisahan was released under the auspices of the Musik Bagus Indonesia label and the creative Bumi Management on October 29, 2021.
