Anies Baswedan Tests Positive for COVID-19, Continues to Lead Meetings Virtually

Kapanlagi.com - Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan has tested positive for the Covid-19 virus. Previously, Anies had taken a PCR or swab test conducted on last Monday (30/11) and the results came out on Tuesday (1/12/2020).

"After consulting and following the doctor's advice, I will undergo self-isolation and follow the treatment procedures determined by the medical team," said Anies in a video and written statement received on Tuesday (1/12).

1. Continuing to Lead Meetings

Now declared positive and asymptomatic, Anies will still lead the scheduled meetings. Undergoing self-isolation, the meetings led by Anies will be conducted virtually.

"I will continue to work leading meetings virtually. Since March, we have been accustomed to working virtually, and God willing, there will be no disrupted policy-making processes," said Anies as quoted from Kompas (1/12).

2. Deputy Governor Also Positive

Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria confirmed positive for Covid-19 based on test results from the Jakarta Provincial Health Office on Friday (27/11).

"Alhamdulillah, although the test results on Friday (27/11/2020) showed positive for Covid-19, but my condition is still good and under control," said Riza in a press statement on Sunday (29/11/2020).

3. Covid-19 Discovery

Riza said that the discovery of this virus originated from the work environment. Where one of the staff members contracted it from his family cluster.

"So, this positive Covid-19 discovery is from the work environment, where one of my staff members contracted it from his family cluster," said Riza.
