A new disaster of a plane crash has shocked the Indonesian public. According to reports, Lion Air JT610 has been declared to have crashed in the waters of Tanjung Karawang while on its way from Jakarta to Pangkal Pinang. In the search for the bodies, Basarnas officers managed to find debris of the plane which was immediately taken to Tanjung Priok.

On Monday (29/10), sad news has just been heard from the aviation world in the homeland. Lion Air JT610 has been declared to have crashed in the waters of Tanjung Karawang.

The plane on the Jakarta - Pangkal Pinang route took off from Soekarno Hatta Airport at 06:20 WIB. Shortly after, the plane lost contact at 06:33 WIB.

After the news of the Lion Air plane losing contact, it wasn't long before there was confirmation from the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) that the plane had crashed in the waters of Tanjung Karawang.

According to the information received, the plane was carrying 178 adult passengers, one child, two infants, as well as three flight attendants who were in training and one technician. In total, there were 189 people.

President Jokowi also stated that the government will make every effort to find the victims and the wreckage of the Lion Air plane. Basarnas personnel are already at the location where the plane is believed to have crashed.

The Basarnas officers were seen organizing the found items and debris of the Lion Air JT610 aircraft at the Evacuation Post, Tanjung Priok, Jakarta, on Monday (29/10). Medical assistance from the military and police were also present at the location.

A fisherman from Tanjungpakis named Boros (50) claimed to have heard a loud explosion around the waters of Tanjung Karawang. "I heard a loud explosion near the beach," said Boros on Monday (29/10), as reported by Merdeka.com.

In addition to the diving team, the SAR team will also deploy a Remote Underwater Vehicle (RUV) or underwater robot. This robot can detect the presence of the aircraft underwater at distances that humans cannot reach.
