Bontang City Carnival is Called as a Medium to Introduce Bontang Tourism

Kapanlagi.com - In celebration of the Bontang City Anniversary, the local government held the Bontang City Carnival (BCC) on Saturday (21/10/2023). But, who would have thought that this annual agenda also has other specific goals. According to the Mayor of Bontang, Basri Rase, BCC is an important moment to introduce the city, known as the City of Parks, to the public on a wider scale.

Indirectly, it will also introduce the tourist attractions, culinary, and culture in Bontang.

“There are many other benefits that we can feel from this event. For example, culinary is widely known, hotels are currently full, and other sectors as well,” said Basri at the Bontang Mayor's Hall, Friday night (20/10/2023).

Some of the well-known tourist attractions are Pulau Beras Basah, Bontang Kuala, and Malahing Ecotourism Village. The development of tourism in this city is also continuously carried out and requires promotion through various activities that can attract the interest of the wider community.

“If the National Capital is already established, Bontang will be like Bogor. We must be able to welcome this so that Bontang can play a role in supporting the new capital in the future,” added Basri.

Creativity of the Residents as the Pillar of Tourism

Basri is also aware that efforts to improve the tourism sector must be supported by the creativity of its residents. That is why BCC is present as a representation of that creativity.

“BCC is our agenda to provide space for artists to express their creativity with the aim of enhancing tourism in Bontang. If tourist visits are so high, then rest assured that SMEs will also grow," said Basri. Bontang City Carnival 2023 complements the excitement of the 24th anniversary of Bontang City.

The participants who attended were not only from Bontang City, but also from various other regions in East Kalimantan.
