Kapanlagi.com - The Covid-19 pandemic has been causing a stir in the public of the homeland since early March, precisely when President Joko Widodo announced that there were 2 Indonesian citizens who tested positive for the coronavirus. After that, the Indonesian National Association of Private Radio Broadcasters (PRSSNI) immediately took the initiative to participate in helping the government face this difficult situation.
PRSSNI, as an association that serves as a platform for more than 600 private radio broadcasts throughout Indonesia, tirelessly provides fast, accurate, and precise information to its listeners. The delivery of information is also packaged in language full of optimism in order to reduce public panic.
For the past 2 weeks, the government itself has been urging the public to stay at home to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. PRSSNI continues to provide various forms of entertainment through creative programs and music to soothe the atmosphere and accompany listeners in carrying out activities at home.
A new initiative taken by PRSSNI since Thursday (26/3) until the next 14 days is to campaign for the call 'Radio Against Covid-19'. The main goal is to spread optimism and work together to fight against Covid-19.
"The initiative we are doing at PRSSNI is a real manifestation of the role and responsibility of all private radio broadcasts in difficult times like now. We hope that, in addition to being able to provide information and entertainment, Radio can also make a real contribution by setting an example, giving encouragement, and inviting the community to fight against the spread of Covid-19," said the Chairman of PRSSNI, Erick Thohir.

Based on the data received so far, it is true that the number of radio listeners has increased rapidly since the government's #stayathome appeal. Therefore, Erick and PRSSNI are very optimistic that their campaign and efforts to combat Covid-19 will be effective.
"The data we have shows that the number of people listening to the radio during Work From Home has increased, especially through mobile applications / radio streaming owned by Radio - Radio members of PRSSNI. Therefore, we believe that what we are doing is very effective in helping the Government and the community face this Covid-19 pandemic," concluded the former Inter Milan club boss.
