Celebrate #GIK1Decade, Galeri Indonesia Kaya Shares Special Gifts for Studios and Dance Groups

During that period, Galeri Indonesia Kaya has become a platform for hundreds of artists and dance communities.

They showcase various dances and artworks that symbolize the colorful richness of Indonesia. Now, to commemorate the inspirational journey that has reached 10 years, Galeri Indonesia Kaya celebrates #GIK1Dekade by sharing the spirit of Love for Culture, Love for Indonesia with dance communities in Indonesia. What is it like?

Free Cultural Stage for One Decade

According to Renitasari Adrian, Program Director of Galeri Indonesia Kaya, for one decade, Galeri Indonesia Kaya has been present as a cultural stage where artists and the general public can showcase various Indonesian arts and other activities for free.

“We are proud to be part of the art journey in Indonesia, and in this year's celebration, we want to share with dance communities in Indonesia. We believe that the future of Indonesian dance art lies in the hands of young talents who are actively learning and striving to create in their respective environments,” said Renitasari.

She added, “We hope to provide encouragement to young artists to continue to develop and realize their amazing potential in the world of Indonesian dance art.”

Introducing the #GIK1Dekade Program: Gift for Dance Studios

Through the program titled #GIK1Dekade: Gift for Dance Studios, Galeri Indonesia Kaya opens opportunities for dance artists to submit creative ideas and concepts in the form of proposals.

After going through various selection processes, 10 selected dance studios will receive mentoring and funding of 50 million Rupiah each. This funding can be used to develop teaching and learning activities, as well as to build the dance art ecosystem in their respective regions.

So, what are the general requirements to apply for this program? Here are the requirements!

• Being a studio or a special traditional dance group.
• Having at least 20 active members.
• Having regular activities throughout the year.
• Actively performing dance shows within the last 5 years.
• Willing to organize dance shows in their respective regions.
• Register and submit proposals starting from October 23, 2023, until November 12, 2023, at 23.59 WIB.
• Follow Indonesia Kaya's social media (Facebook, Instagram, and Tiktok).
• Willing to be covered and documented by Indonesia Kaya.
• The selection results will be announced through social media and will also be communicated to the selected proposal team via email or phone.
• The selected studio representative must participate in every activity organized by the Indonesia Kaya team.

Webinar Series: Studio Discussion

Interestingly, before opening registration and submitting activity proposals, Galeri Indonesia Kaya also holds a Studio Discussion Webinar to provide material on writing ideas, technical insights, how to create and communicate a proposal, as well as managing dance studios. The webinar is delivered by Indonesian dance artists who have achieved success in various dance competitions both domestically and internationally.

Studio Discussion Webinar #Series 1 with the topic of Making Performance Proposals, Collaboration, and Studio Management will be held on Sunday, October 22, 2023. Meanwhile, the topic of Creative Work, Collaboration, and Dance Studio Regeneration will be presented in Studio Discussion Webinar #Series 2 on Sunday, November 5, 2023.

Several sessions of the Studio Discussion Webinar will be conducted by Mila Rosinta from Mila Art Dance, Dayu Ani from the Bumi Bajra art community, Choreographer Eko Supriyanto and Hartati, as well as Indonesian dance maestro Didik Ninik Thowok.
