Kapanlagi.com - High enthusiasm was shown by journalists in the Content Creation Competition program held some time ago. This is because more than 500 journalistic works were collected in the Ria content program together with IndiHome which was held from April 13 to May 13.

The journalistic works consist of the feature news and straight news categories. Interestingly, Widi Andika H Nugrahadi, Head of PR IndiHome, admitted that there was no specific theme in the program which was intended as a medium for expression and creativity for journalist friends throughout Indonesia.

“They are free to tell exciting experiences, interesting findings in the field, and the long journey of IndiHome's role in remote villages in Indonesia,” explained Widi. As a result, the contestants collected various unique and interesting stories while still maintaining the rules of journalistic work with credible sources in the field.

Many Journalists from Various Regions Participated

Like a puzzle that intersects with each other, the stories they raised form the same key message about the important role of IndiHome's internet network. Umi Kalsum, Vice Chief Editor of IDN Times who was appointed as one of the jury members, also expressed her admiration.

“I am impressed with the participants of this writing competition. They presented deep and descriptive writing. When we curated, it was like being in the story and report presented. Moreover, the journalistic works from journalist friends in the regions,” she explained.

Similarly, Yura Syahrul, Chief Editor of Katadata, also stated that participants from the regions dominated this competition. They went directly to the field and conducted interviews with many sources that confirmed the story's content.

"Participants who came from various regions in Indonesia showed the existence of the IndiHome internet network that spreads to remote villages. This wide access makes it easier for journalists to dig up stories and conduct direct interviews with sources in the field," explained Yura, who was also appointed as a jury member of the competition.

In addition to Yura and Umi, IndiHome as the organizer also participated in the judging and selection process of the journalist competition winners held face-to-face in Jakarta. Ardhi Suryadhi, Vice Chief Editor of Detikcom and Ismoko Widjaya, Chief Editor of Viva were present at the event.

Journalistic Works Are Objectively Evaluated by Jury Members

The jury members evaluate objectively without knowing the author of the news and the name of the media. "We also pay close attention to writing rules, such as typos, language spelling, and diction selection to the news structure," said Ardhi, one of the competition's jury members.

The judging is based on four aspects. First, the angle. How new, unique, and interesting the news angle used as a benchmark in journalistic works. Second, accuracy. The data and facts presented must be obtained in accordance with journalistic norms.

"The same goes for the sources used in the writing to be used as a benchmark for the feasibility of the facts obtained. In addition, the way the news message is delivered must be conveyed smoothly and firmly to the point without lingering," said Ismoko, who was also appointed as a jury member.
