Covid-19 Vaccination for 18+ Population Begins in Greater Jakarta Area and Bandung

This good news was positively responded by Dr. Reisa Kartikasari Broto Asmoro, as the Government Spokesperson for Covid-19 and Ambassador for New Habit Adaptation on Friday (18/6).

"Alhamdulillah, this is very good news. It means that all adult citizens in Jabodetabek can now go to vaccination centers and exercise their rights. Of course, prioritizing groups such as the elderly and vulnerable groups such as communities in densely populated or slum areas, people with disabilities, and pre-elderly," said Dr. Reisa.

He added that as of Thursday (17/06), more than 34.1 million doses of vaccine have been administered to around 22.1 million people. Indonesia's vaccination capacity can now reach 640 thousand per day. Until now, Indonesia has 94.7 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine in finished and bulk form from three manufacturers, namely Sinovac, Sinopharm, and Astrazeneca. "All three vaccines have obtained Emergency Use Listing from WHO," said Dr. Reisa.

Dr. Reisa also reminded that it is everyone's obligation to remind each other that even though the vaccine is effective in protecting oneself, the risk of transmission still exists. Therefore, even after being vaccinated, it is still necessary to adhere to health protocols, wherever it may be, including in the office, public places, and at home.
