'Dewa Kipas' Viral, Indonesian Online Chess Player Accused of Cheating by Master GothamChess and Reported by Fans

Kapanlagi.com - A netizen named Ali Akbar has gained attention after reporting his father's account 'Dewa Kipas' after winning an online chess match. Initially, it was told that the father met a player named GothamChess.

GothamChess is known as an International Chess Master with an ELO of 2400 and also a YouTuber with 700,000 subscribers. When the father played against Gotham Chess, the match was broadcast live on Twitch and watched by thousands of people.

Instead of receiving praise, the father was accused of cheating. As a result, his account was mass reported by GothamChess fans.

In the end, his father's account was blocked from the application. Ali Akbar felt dissatisfied with the treatment of the public figure who acted however he pleased. It turns out that in his story, Ali Akbar's father is a retired tournament player.

"My dad is a former tournament player who has now retired. So I showed him a chess app where he can play against people online. Eventually, he got addicted to playing Ranked Matches and met some masters. And coincidentally, my dad met a twitch Streamer who has hardcore fans," he wrote.

"My dad doesn't know anything because he can't speak English. So I handle the app for him, and he just plays it," he added.

Since his father cannot use the app, Ali said that his father first writes down the results of the chess matches he plays in a note.

"There is evidence of my dad Dadang Subur (Dewa Kipas) always noting down the results of the chess matches he plays, and GothamChess accused him of cheating," said Ali Akbar.
