According to various sources, Budi Said is known to be the director of PT Tridjaya Kartika Group. This company, located in Surabaya, is engaged in the property sector such as housing, apartments, and plazas.

One of the property projects that this company has worked on is Plasa Marina, known as a complete and famous cellphone counter center in Surabaya.

2. Chronology of ANTAM Case

This chronology started in October 2019, Budi received information about a gold discount at PT ANTAM's Surabaya branch, as reported by Merdeka.com. He then visited the PT ANTAM office and bought gold at a discounted price of Rp 530 million per kg.

However, after sending a certain amount of money assuming 7.07 tons of gold, Budi admitted that there was a difference of 1.1 tons of gold weight claimed and only received 5.935 tons of gold. The remaining gold that he never received eventually led him to send a letter to PT ANTAM's Surabaya and Jakarta branches.

3. Never Give Discounts

However, the state-owned enterprise claimed to have never sold gold at a discounted price. On February 7, 2020, Budi finally sued PT ANTAM and filed five claims.

Budi filed five claims against PT ANTAM, Head of Precious Metal Boutique (BELM) ANTAM Surabaya Endang Kumoro, Administrative Staff of BELM ANTAM Surabaya Misdianto, General Trading Manufacturing and Service Senior Officer Ahmad Purwanto, and Eksi Anggraeni.

In the explained petitum, Defendant I is responsible for the actions taken by Defendant I, II, III, and IV by paying the plaintiff Rp 817,465,600,000 or equivalent to 1.136 tons of gold, and Defendant V must pay Rp 92,092,000,000.

In addition, Defendant I and Defendant V are obliged to pay immaterial damages to the Plaintiff amounting to Rp 500 billion immediately and also must pay a coercive fine (dwangsom) of Rp 100 million for each day of delay.

4. Appealing

On Wednesday, January 13, 2021, Budi successfully won the lawsuit. Meanwhile, PT ANTAM will appeal the case and fight for the truth.
