Flare Igniter, the Cause of Bromo Fire, Arrested, Here's the Chronology

Kapanlagi.com - The suspected perpetrator of the flare igniter that caused the fire in Teletubbies Hill area of Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS) has been arrested and handed over to the Sukapura Police, Probolinggo Police. Meanwhile, other members of the group are undergoing examination.

"The suspected perpetrator is one person, while the group is currently under investigation by the local Police," said Septi Eka Wardhani, Head of the Administrative Division of TNBTS in Malang, on Thursday (7/9).

1. Triggered Flare for Prewedding

Forest and Land Fires (Karhutla) in the Savanna Valley or Teletubbies Hill Block are suspected to be triggered by a flare ignited by someone who was taking prewedding photos. The perpetrator is suspected of igniting the flare for the purpose of creating a photo effect at that time.

Septi stated that she fully entrusted the legal process to the Sukapura Police and Probolinggo Police, as they are the law enforcement authorities, namely the police.

"The perpetrator has been apprehended by the police, the initials and origin of the perpetrator according to the BAP are with the local police," she explained.

"We are not fully aware of the chronology, as the interrogation is fully handed over to the Sukapura Police," she continued.

2. Mount Bromo Tourism Closed Completely

Mount Bromo tourism is completely closed following the recurrence of fires in the Savanna Valley or Teletubbies Hill Block. The fire is suspected to be triggered by a flare ignited by someone who was taking prewedding photos.

As a result of this incident, BB TNBTS issued a total closure announcement which has been in effect since Wednesday (6/9) at 22.00 WIB until an undetermined time. The closure announcement is the result of an evaluation of the conditions in the field, including the alleged flare ignition incident.

Meanwhile, based on a source, the group of tourists came from Surabaya and rented a jeep. However, the jeep driver fell asleep near the location where the group was taking pictures. So they didn't know when one of the group members lit the flare.
